16 WEEKS OLD
We got some good news at Keira's pediatrician appointment yesterday. For starters, she is 6 pounds 10 ounces! Although she didn't quite reach the one ounce per day weight gain goal, the doctor was pleased with her growth and gave the ok to skip the middle of the night feeding if she sleeps through it. Which, by the way, little miss Keira has slept through the night 3 times!! God, I love this baby!
When her pulse ox was checked (to see percentage of oxygen in her blood) she came in at 97! Her oxygen is improving! We have an appointment at CHOP for her lungs at the end of September so hopefully the Pulmonary Specialist and our Pediatrician will at that time be able to give us an indication of when we can work her off the oxygen. It couldn't come a day too soon if you ask me. Being attached to her oxygen tank all day is very tedious. It is impossible to leave the livingroom. I am getting stir crazy for sure. We have portable tanks that we use en route to her doctor's appointments, but I'm just not comfortable enough with them to use them around the house. Plus, the amount of oxygen they hold is limited and the tank itself is very awkward to carry along with the monitor and all of the wire and cords that go with the two of them. I just can't wait to have this part all behind us. We're getting there......
