Today we had an appointment at CHOP for just a routine follow up. But let me tell you, there was nothing routine about our visit. Getting up and out the door before 7am, beating our way through rush hour traffic, and then getting bum directions for a detoured route to the hospital landed us about fifteen minutes late. Then, at the exact moment we pulled into the parking garage, Claire threw up all over herself, her carseat, and the car in general. She was hysterically crying and repeating "What happened to me?" as I tried my best to clean her up using the ten or so wipes I had left in the diaper bag. Her clothes were ruined and obviously we couldn't take her into the hospital like that. We opted for Claire and I to stay in the hot, stinky vomit car (yay) while Steve took Keira in for the appointment.  Fortunately the appointment went well.
Steve said Keira really turned on the charm and was smiling away and "talking" to the doctors.  They are pleased with her weight gain (a little over sixteen pounds!) and are no longer worried about that or considering sending us to a feeding clinic with her.  They are aware that Keira continues to alarm during the night, but are more curious than concerned about it.  We are told that a sleep study is the only way to get a definitive answer as to why she still alarms for desats so we are waiting for an opening in their schedule to do just that. We had one scheduled for last week (took us almost FOUR months to get the appointment!), but had to cancel at the last minute because Keira developed a fever and ear infection.  We're hoping to get in soon and that when we do, their monitoring will prove that her lungs and heart are fine and that the home monitor is just overly sensitive due to a very squirmy baby.
Anyway, enough of me blabbing away.  Click below to hear Keira give her side of things.....

One word comes to my mind...."whoah!" So impressed with her talking! Maybe she will rub off on her little cousin in August.

As for poor Claire, looks like she has something (besides a double tooth) in common with her MyMike. Hopefully, her motion sickness is short lived. Give both girls my best.
