Keira's vocabulary is growing and her hair is too.
Check out that ponytail!

Keira's vocabulary has been very limited. For a child that "talks" ALL DAY LONG, she has very few real words she works with. Her first word was NO. Her next word was actually a two word phrase, ALL DONE. She then graduated to BYE BYE and that's pretty much been it. Over the last few weeks though her baby talk has been evolving into actual words. ELMO is her new favorite monster and word. In fact, she hasn't stopped saying it since she learned how to.
Our daily conversations go like this....
Mom: Hi Keira!
Keira: ELMO!!
Mom: Are you hungry?
Keira: ELMO!!
Mom: Do you want to go outside?
Keira: ELMO!!

She now uses BYE BYE appropriately and today added DADDY to the end. "Bye Bye, Daddy" she said at the window as Steve's car pulled out of the driveway. She has the sweetest little voice.

We think she is saying CLAIRE, but it sounds more like CAAAAAAW and is always yelled, not spoken. (Still sweet, but LOUD!!)

A lot of her babbling is starting to take on the shape of actual phrases. Steve and I often look at each other like, "Did she just say that?!" We usually quickly dismiss it as coincidence, but one look at Keira and you'll see that sparkle in her eye. She said something real and she knows it. Just last night Keira was looking through a paper towel ring and clear as day said, "I see you!" She repeated it five or six times while looking through it at us, but hasn't said anything close to it since. Does that count as a first sentence? I'm not sure. What I am sure of, is that Keira Leigh has TONS to say. What it is, we have no idea. Give it a few months though and I have a feeling we are going to have a real chatterbox on our hands!!

She looks adorable with that ponytail. I can't wait to have a conversation with Keira. She clearly has a lot to say.

After watching the previous video, Keira will be caught up to Claire's nursery rhymes before you know it! Looking forward to Keira's talking skills rubbing off on Nancy Carol.
