Due to Keira's prematurity, she was not able to open her eyes until she was twelve days old.

I can remember worrying that she would never be able to open them or that when she did, something would be wrong with them or that she could even be blind.

When I look at pictures like this one, where her blue eyes are shining so brightly, I can't help but think they were so worth the wait. Aren't they something?
