We had a family picnic to celebrate Keira's birthday and we had one very special guest.....
ELMO!!!!
There is nothing Keira loves more in this world than Elmo. You could feel her excitement when Elmo walked into the party. She immediately climbed down the stairs to meet him!
She got a little nervous when she finally got close enough to him, but then she reached up and gave him the biggest hug....
..and it was impossible to get her to let go!
She hugged him like that forever and there were lots of tears when we finally had to pry her off of him. I would have LOVED to be able to read her mind. What kinds of thoughts must have been racing through it with her hero right there in the fur, at her party, in her very own backyard. Her face looked like she was thinking, "Thank God you're here, Elmo" and she just squeezed him and squeezed him.
Her reaction made it definitely worth the seventy bucks!
And a very big THANK YOU to my dear friend, Christa, who played the part of ELMO and made my little girl's dream come true!
