OUR MINI-VACATION TO RENO AND LAKE TAHOE!
Steve and I spent a few days just the two of us on a trip to Reno. Steve has a musician friend who is in management at a casino there and was kind enough to set us up with plane tickets and hotel stay for FREE! We haven't been away without kids since Keira was born, so we decided to take him up on the generous offer and headed out to Reno, Nevada with no expectations at all. You can only imagine our surprise when (after a very long, exhausting, annoying travel day ful of delayed flights), we arrived at The Nugget and was told that THIS was our 800 square foot luxury suite for the weekend!!!!!!!!

The Livingroom...

The dining room...

The master bedroom...

The master bathroom...

We almost died when we walked into the place and turned on light switch after light switch to reveal this gorgeous and humongous suite!!!!!

Our vacation pictures are super boring. It's hard when there are just the two of you. Most of the time the camera was forgotten and left up in the room and other times we'd attempt to hold the camera up and take a picture of ourselves that way. Most of those ended up being just of Steve's chin or my nose or sometimes we missed ourselves in the shot completely. Here's the one decent picture of the two of us on our trip to Reno...

Sick of losing money while playing blackjack, we took a break from casino life and drove about an hour to Lake Tahoe. The drive was gorgeous and having never been to Nevada, it was a landscape I've never seen. We rented a 2010 Mustang for the day and while the photo of it here is quite crappy, trust me when I tell you nothing was crappy about this car! Yee--Ha!

We didn't really pack for this trip with the beach in mind, so we didn't really do anything beachy at Tahoe although there was enough parasailing, waterskiing, jetskiing, boating, fishing, and windsurfing to keep you busy for a week. We dipped our toes in Lake Tahoe, then had some beers and burgers at a little cafe on the beach before taking the scenic drive back to The Nugget and losing the rest of our money on blackjack. It seems weird saying this, but Steve and I both agreed that we love the Jersey shore far better than Tahoe. It was beautiful, but what's a beach without an OCEAN?! Maybe we're just too Jersey for Tahoe, but that's how we roll. :)

Our Reno/Tahoe trip was terrific! It was the perfect amount of relaxation, sightseeing, gambling, shopping, eating, and drinking. The only thing that made leaving a little easier, was knowing that we would be coming home to our little girls. Five days away from them felt like a very long time! (But man, what I wouldn't do to go back, get room service, and sleep until noon in that suite!!!)

I don't have time to read everything right now, especially since Kayden made the font on the internet almost microscopic and I don't know how to fix it.. but wanted to comment that it looks like you stayed at the White House.. since when did they start taking reservations?!
