Keira has a new word and it is FLOWER.
She loves flowers. There isn't a flower in our yard that can escape her fast tiny hands. At just the sight of them she purses her lips and starts sniffing with her nose. Her disregard for my carefully planted flower beds is driving me insane, but her little voice and bunny nose are just too cute not to share. Click below for a quick clip...

We recently had Keira's speech evaluated by the Early Intervention team and she qualified for Speech Therapy. Therapy sessions will begin at the end of this month. I am anxious to see what strategies they will use with her and how quickly we will see progress. Since her evaluation over a month ago, she has already begun adding lots of new words to her vocabulary all on her own. She's even been stringing them together into short sentences too. Sometimes it takes us awhile to figure out exactly what it is she's trying to say, but it's all coming together. Watching her face when she says "A cow says Moooooooooo" is too precious to explain. It's a mix of concentration, pride, and shock that she actually got it right! It is such a relief to see her verbal skills developing, but sad too. My "baby" won't feel like a baby for much longer.

I can watch her run full speed over and over again, and I still laugh.
